Why a Sheep?
I am known as a lot of things: bride and Momma at home; daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, Coco (my beloved aunt name,) granddaughter or niece by my family; friend (hopefully not “my crazy friend”) by my dear girlfriends; Mrs. Kraemer or Mrs. Courtney at school, depending on who’s in my library; but what I want to be known as first is a follower of Jesus, my Shepherd.
“I am the good shepherd: I know my sheep and my sheep know me” John 10:14, NIV
Why Running Shoes?
I’ve got my school shoes I wear Monday through Friday because they’re comfortable and they get me through every long day. I’ve got my weekend shoes, for my favorite two (which just so happen to be the only two) seasons in South Louisiana: flip flop season or (the much shorter) boot season. I’ve got my church shoes that are usually closed toe to hide my ever-present need for a pedicure. My favorite shoes, though, are my running shoes because I feel God’s strength, grace and transforming power demonstrated most mightily when I’m laced up in my running shoes.
…those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31, NIV
